Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago, Miami & New York: €1,180 LOT Business Class from Oslo (With Warsaw Stopover)

LOT Business Class Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Star Alliance member LOT Polish Airlines brings us a deal from Oslo to five North American airports, starting at just €1,180 (~NOK 13,834) for trips to Los Angeles. This deal includes 3x 32kg checked luggage and all usual business class perks. Departures are available broadly in 2026.

In order to get the advertised price, you need to spend 24 hours in Warsaw in at least one direction, in most cases 2 24+ hours stopovers are required. While an inconvenience when it comes to reaching your destination as quickly as possible, there are worse cities for a stopover. The Polish capital offers lots of history, great food and cheap hotels.

You can find these prices to the following destinations:

Our Go2 tool will forward you to LOT or trip.com with your selected flight dates. Prices on trip are roughly €40 cheaper. We have a detailed explanation on how to find these flights in the Search & Book section. Departures are available from February through September 2026.

Flights from Oslo to Warsaw are operated by Embraer jets or Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. From there, you’ll continue to Chicago on a LOT Boeing 787 with a 2-2-2 configuration.

The Polish airline LOT only has one long-haul aircraft type, the Boeing 787 (Dreamliner) – thus every flight will have the exact same seats. Everything is slightly above average, except the seat alignment (2-2-2), which doesn’t offer direct access to the aisle for the window seats. A further disadvantage of flying with LOT: There’s no Wi-Fi, even if you’d be willing to pay for it. So, if you intend to work (with internet access) during the flight, you should choose a different airline. LOT is, however, very generous with its baggage allowance (3 x 32 kg).

Visa Info

Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$40 (~€35) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.

There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.

Most European passport holders can stay in Canada for up to 180 days, but you must obtain an electronic travel authorization before your arrival in the country.

This deal has no expiration date. In addition to the aforementioned stay in Warsaw, the minimum stay is one weekend in the United States. Departures are available from February through September 2026.

Finding these tickets isn’t that easy. You can use Google Flights, but the tool indicates much more availabilities than there actually are. The ITA Matrix is more precise in this case. Just search for a regular business class roundtrip to the city you desire.

Search LO OSL WAW LAX Flights

The routing code LO+ and the extension code minconnect 24:00 ensure that only flights in questions are displayed. Setting the preview to See calendar of lowest fares will give you an idea for all possible departures within a month. Clicking on one of the following links sets you up to search for fares the way described above, though you still need to enter the codes yourself:

After retrieving dates, you need to enter them on LOT’s website or an online travel agency like trip.com for extra savings. You need to use the multistop search and enter all segments individually to get the lowest price.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Information & Tips for USA

The United States offers a wide range of tourist sights, from national parks like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The currency is the U.S. dollar (USD), and card payments are widely accepted. Prices vary by region but can be high in major cities, especially for accommodation and dining. Weather differs greatly across the country—winters can be harsh in the north, while the south often stays mild; summers are generally hot and humid in many areas.

The U.S. transport infrastructure is highly car-dependent, especially outside major cities. Urban centres like New York, Chicago, and San Francisco have functional public transit, but many other cities have limited options. Between cities, domestic flights are common for long distances, while intercity buses and Amtrak trains cover some routes, though often with slower speeds and less frequency compared to other countries. Without a car, getting around can be inconvenient in many parts of the country.

Information & Tips for Canada

Canada offers a wide range of attractions, from the Rocky Mountains and Banff National Park to the vibrant cities of Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. The currency used is the Canadian dollar (CAD), and credit cards are widely accepted. Prices can vary, but Canada is generally more expensive than many other destinations, particularly in major cities. The weather varies significantly by region, with cold winters and mild summers in most areas, while the west coast enjoys milder winters. The best time to visit is usually summer or early autumn for pleasant temperatures.

Canada’s transport infrastructure is well-developed, with reliable public transit systems in major cities like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, including buses, subways, and light rail. However, outside of these urban areas, public transport can be limited, and a car is often necessary for getting around. Between cities, domestic flights are common, especially for long distances, but trains and buses are also available, though travel times can be lengthy. Road conditions are generally good, and driving is a popular way to explore the country.

Anyone able to buy it without error?

    • Enrico says:

I tried several times for Los Angeles in August… yesterday and today. Always error when at the summary.

      • Peer says:

I booked directly via lot.com yesterday and got an eTicket issued immediately. It is important to look up every of the 4 segments individually and have at least 24 hours layover in WAW in each direction

        • ENRICO says:

I did it as recommended but I always get error at the end… I am able to see the price, adding my data, selecting my seats but once at the summary and payment I get error. I am trying since yesterday but no luck.

          • Tomasz says:

On some other websites people suggest to move forward the return stopover by one day. For example, someone had an error with 2 days stopover on return but it went through with 3 days stopover. Give it a try! Not perfect if you really want to fly but no problem if you want to skip the last leg.

          • Enrico says:

You are right… I did not notice that you need to spend at least 24 hours in WAW… with that said, I need to spend at least two days in WAW in order to meet the 24 hours min requirement considering the flight timing from OSL.

            Thanks,

            E
